"Long Island's premier environmental studies program for high school students in Nassau and Suffolk Counties."
Hosted by the Nassau and Suffolk County Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

The Envirothon is an environmental competition for high school students in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.  It is based on five subject areas: aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife, and the current issue—which change annually.  The winning team from each county will move on to participate in the NYS Envirothon. Additionally each member of the winning team from Nassau and Suffolk County will receive a scholarship of $500!

Volunteer Registration for the 2023 Regional Envirothon is now open! Registration will be open until April 1st. Please note when completing the registration form the Nassau and Suffolk Counties are Region 5.

The Envirothon competition stimulates students’ interests in environmental concerns and motivates them to further develop their skills and grow into environmentally-aware, action-oriented adults.

Envirothon activities begin locally with teams of five 9th through 12th grade students competing for their County Envirothon title. Local competitions are sponsored by their Conservation Districts, with a helping hand from local environmental recreational civic groups and businesses.
